Addressed to those who appreciate the time spent in nature but the program does not allow them to linger too long between the waters, we offer this trip, the quintessence of what you could see in the Danube Delta, as the beauty of the landscape and rich natural biodiversity.
Our route starts on the Tulcea Branch and continues on Channel 36 (connection of the Tulcea Branch with the Chilia Branch located on the border with Ukraine) – North Sireasa Canal to the Lake called by locals "Cu Coteţe"(Rookeries Lake) for the large number of birds nesting in tall willows impressive. Those who have their cameras ready can catch cormorants, large and small egrets, shovels, night herons, yellow or gray and, ... with a little luck, the greedy pelicans of our delta. In the wide opening you will be able to observe in silence the majestic slip of the beautiful swans. And the time being short, we will return on the Trofilca canal, a place preferred by the blue gull (kingfisher) then on the 36th channel towards Tulcea. If nature manages to impress you, we are waiting for you with offers where time is more generous.

By far in the top of nature lovers’ preferences, the 6-7 hours tour
It is an exploration of the Delta, between the Chilia and Sulina arms of the Danube. The chosen route provides an overview of the richness of natural biodiversity given to this corner of the country. The adventure starts in Tulcea and until we get used to the atmosphere of the old river (approx. 15-20 min) we enter the "natural" area, on Channel 36 which, generously, connects us with our neighbors in Ukraine, leaving us from time to time, to see flocks of pelicans looking for food in the hidden lakes to the left and right of the canal. The continuation, on the Sireasa and Periteasca canals, introduces us to the real tunnels of willows and wild vines whose secrets only the birds know. Discreet and cautious, the wild cat can rarely be seen hunting in these mysterious places.
Entering the Șontea Canal, we will be able to capture at any time with the cameras, the white-tailed eagle, the “king” of these places, supervising with greatness, from a height, the whole area.
Passing Nebunu Lake (strictly protected area) we enter a larger area, the favorite place for lizards, pond hens and large egrets.
A "curve" called Cot Candura introduces us on the Șontea Noua canal, an area rarely crossed by boats, with a wide variety of birds. On a hut we can see the headquarters of the "GVU party" (eternally wet neck), a joke of the fishing boats in the area.
But, after so much fresh air and beautiful impressions ..., we stop for a delicious fish meal on the bank of the Șontea canal where we will enjoy fish egs, fish broth with potatoes and garlic sauce, fish soup, fried fish,plum brandy, wine and water. After a hearty meal, we take a nap on the way home through the North Sireasa area, the Trofilca canal and then, to Tulcea, settling the impressions after a day.

We start from Tulcea, with enthusiasm on the Tulcea Branch to Ceatal, where we see the separation of the two (from 3) arms of the Danube. We left the Sfântu Gheorghe Arm on the right and continued on the Sulina Arm that takes us to the sea. We pass the Partizani village and leave behind the monotony of the old river, enthusiastically entering the natural area on the Arhipencu canal, a winding and spectacular canal as vegetation. It is the turn of Corciovata and Fortuna Lakes to enchant us with the beautiful landscapes with white and yellow water lilies and the variety of bird species to the fishing village of Mila 23. Usually, those who welcome us are the pelicans! Then it’s our hosts’ turn!
The locals are hardworking people but with an overflowing hospitality, happy to see other people after the long and lonely winter days. They are good cooks and over time, they have learned that not everyone eats fish and they have, carefully prepared, dishes for vegetarians, vegans or people with allergies. But our advice remains: DON’T MISS the fish dishes! They are cooked "like at home - in the delta - at home". The custom of the place is for the husband, a fisherman, to bring the “raw material” and for the wife to show her culinary talent, looking for the guest’s satisfaction! In a short time, you have the feeling that you have known your host "since the world" and you leave happy with the hope of a return!
After a hearty lunch, we continue our journey on the Olguța and Șontea lata canals, preferred by many anglers. When the water level allows us, we cross Fortuna Lake where pelicans and cormorants become "accomplices" in emptying the lake of fish but are kind enough to let us admire them discreetly, from a distance, so as not to disturb their feast. in passing, next to Lake Baclanesti, we enter the Șontea canal, generous with the multitude and variety of birds in the area. Swans, large and small egrets, coots and pond hens, various species of herons and ibex, woodpeckers and porpoises, all being guarded by the majestic white-tailed eagle, rotating nonchalantly at height.
We stop for a moment at Nebunu Lake to admire the birds, without entering the lake, being a strictly protected area. The trip continues on the winding Periteasca and Sireasa canals, with a lush vegetation that invigorates us and prepares us for a relaxing finish on canal 36 to our final destination - Tulcea.
